Professional Background

Dr. Scott D. Misek brings 31 years of clinical practice and more than 25 years of consulting experience to forensic chiropractic review and expert witness work. A 1990 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, he combines experience in private practice, healthcare quality management, regulatory service, and professional education.

His consulting work has included thousands of medical record reviews, hundreds of independent medical examinations, and deposition and trial testimony. He assists plaintiff and defense counsel, insurers, and regulatory organizations with matters involving chiropractic standards of care, causation, medical necessity, documentation, coding and billing, and professional conduct.

Dr. Misek previously served as Director of Chiropractic Medical Management at SecureCare and as Chairman of the Nebraska Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He currently serves as Assistant Chair of Academics and a Professor of Basic Sciences at Life Chiropractic College West’s Bellevue campus.

His approach emphasizes independent analysis, clear explanations, and opinions supported by the available clinical evidence. Each review addresses the questions presented while identifying material limitations, missing information, and alternative explanations where appropriate.

Scott D. Misek, DC, CHCQM, FABQAURP

Dr. Misek’s qualifications include postgraduate training in chiropractic forensics, peer and utilization review, and healthcare quality management. His clinical, consulting, regulatory, and teaching experience informs his assessment of chiropractic care and professional conduct.

He has presented educational programs for chiropractic associations, insurers, investigators, and legal professionals, and has authored articles addressing chiropractic care, documentation, and forensic review.
